Jarrod Fowler's publications occupy a unique niche between the worlds of experimental music & artist's books. Fowler's debut CD, Translation As Rhythm, was published by Errant Bodies Press (2006), and served as that label's first CD-only release. His second CD, 'Percussion' As Percussion, was published by information as material (2008), and similarly was that publisher's first CD release.
The year of 2008 has brought Fowler's first international performance (Instal 08, Glasgow) and will see Jarrod exhibiting a "reading" of Friedrich Kittler's Gramophone, Film, Typewriter at the Tate Modern. In addition to this sample-based work, Fowler will continue his "rhythm" studies through projects utilizing the works of Søren Kierkegaard (Either/Or, Repetition), Friedrich Nietzsche (Thought of the Eternal Return of the Same), and Gilles Deleuze (Difference & Repetition).
